Counsel to owners, developers, contractors, construction managers, sureties and other project stakeholders in the full range of construction and infrastructure legal matters and disputes — contract and payment claims, delay and disruption, construction and design defect claims, insurance claims and surety bond claims — from avoidance, or first notice, through resolution.

Construction disputes rarely turn on a single event. They accumulate — a delayed approval, a changed condition, a design gap — until the economics of the project are at stake. Reading them well means reading the project itself: the schedule logic, the contract's allocation of risk, and the contemporaneous record that shows what actually happened and when.

Jerry brings an engineer's training to that analysis before the legal strategy is set. Having worked as an industrial engineer before he practiced law, he approaches a claim the way he would a system problem — isolating the causes, quantifying the effects, and identifying where the risk was always going to land. The aim is resolution on the client's terms, whether that comes through negotiation, a dispute board, mediation, arbitration or, when it is necessary, litigation.

The most valuable work often happens before a dispute ever arises. Jerry counsels clients on avoidance through experienced legal project management, proactively heading off and resolving the issues that affect project execution and delivery, so disagreements are resolved long before they need a forum — and before they erode trust and relationships.
